BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
It is important that you eat before getting tattooed. By eating beforehand it ensures your blood sugar levels aren’t low and reduces the risk of feeling faint or dizzy. Its also a good idea to bring surgery snacks or drinks with you to your appointment. Make something that your clothing is comfortable and don’t wear anything you wouldn’t want to get ink stains on as tattooing can get messy.
Before getting tattooed please don’t go out partying the night before, and there really is nothing worse than getting tattooed on a hangover! If you are sunburnt or excessively tanned you won’t be able to be tattooed until your skin has recovered so please bear that in mind when booking a tattoo after a holiday.
It is against the law to tattoo person’s under the age of 18. Bring photo ID with you to your appointment.
Payments are accepted by Card or Cash on the day.
After your tattoo i will cover the are in cling film. Around 3 hours after i have done this you will need to take the cling film off, wash the area with warm water and apply healing balm. Washing your tattoo with warm water ensures you wash all the plasma “clear fluid” from you tattoo. After washing your tattoo pat dry with a clean paper towel or clean soft cloth. With your finger tips apply a small amount healing balm to your tattoo. I recommend keeping your tattoo wrapped for the first 2-3 days (including during the night) however taking the cling film off 3-4 times a day to clean and reapply healing balm. Make sure to wash your hands before touching your tattoo. This usually stops 6-10 hours after receiving your tattoo.
I recommend El Gato Negro Tattoo Healing Balm which is available to buy at the studio for £3.
